Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
The short version: Your allergy data stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or share your personal health information. Period.
Our Philosophy
At Allegro, we believe your health data is deeply personal. That's why we've built our app with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. We don't want your data—we just want to help you understand your allergies.
Data We Don't Collect
Let's be clear about what we do not collect:
- Your allergy reaction logs and history
- Your symptoms, triggers, or severity data
- Your medications or treatment information
- Your precise location (only used locally for weather/pollen data)
- Personal identifiers like name, email, or phone number
- Health data from HealthKit integrations
Data Storage
All your allergy data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it (for example, when creating a PDF report for your doctor).
Location Data
Allegro uses your location to fetch local pollen and air quality data from Open-Meteo, a free weather API. This location data:
- Is processed on your device
- Is only used to request weather data for your area
- Is never stored on our servers (we don't have servers storing user data)
- Can be disabled in your device settings at any time
Third-Party Services
Open-Meteo (Weather & Pollen Data)
We use Open-Meteo's free API to fetch pollen forecasts and air quality data. Your approximate location coordinates are sent to their servers to retrieve local weather data. Open-Meteo does not require authentication and their service is designed for privacy. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com/en/terms.
RevenueCat (Subscriptions)
If you choose to purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random identifier to manage your subscription status—no personal information. See their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
HealthKit Integration
If you grant permission, Allegro can read certain HealthKit data (sleep, heart rate) to help identify correlation patterns. This data:
- Is only accessed with your explicit permission
- Is processed entirely on your device
- Is never transmitted to any server
- Can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs. We don't know how many users we have, how often you use the app, or what features you use. And we prefer it that way.
Data Export
When you export your data as PDF or CSV, that file is created locally on your device. Where you send that file (email, AirDrop, etc.) is entirely your choice and your responsibility.
Children's Privacy
Allegro does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed as a personal health tracking tool and does not require any account or personal information to use.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our privacy practices, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date. Given our philosophy, any changes would only ever make things more private, never less.
